The Incredible Story of Ewok: A Street Cat Finds His Happiness
The gentle cat Ewok lived on the streets for many years, but everything changed when he encountered a kind person who offered him a new home. Last winter, this resilient cat appeared in a neighborhood where an attentive resident recognized him. He had been seen earlier in the summer, desperately searching for food. The cat seemed lonely and hungry.
At first, Ewok was a bit scared, but he meant no harm. The friendly finder took him to his home, and the cat appeared relieved to finally have a warm place and a full food bowl. His fur was tangled and matted, and he had a rough spot on his back that caused him pain.
When the Châteaux Orphelins Montreal animal rescue team was alerted, they immediately welcomed him into their care with open arms.
“As soon as we took Ewok, the little teddy bear, into our care, we took him to the veterinary clinic right away,” reported the animal rescue organization. The staff lovingly attended to him, untangled the knots in his fur, and comforted him with gentle strokes and encouraging words. Although he was anxious, he remained calm and allowed the veterinary team to meet his needs.
He was estimated to be about three years old. His paws had hardened from roaming in the snow. “The vet also discovered an old rib injury that hadn’t healed properly, likely from an accident during his life on the street – but it didn’t cause him any pain.” A loving foster family welcomed Ewok into their home, and his gentle, sweet disposition quickly emerged.
